 Great Product; Range Could be Better July 31, 2010

This little dongle is amazing. I have Windows 7, and have only used it on it so far. After plugging it in, Windows recognized it, installed drivers for it, and it was ready to use. I have not had a problem with pairing, besides with the device I'm trying to. Aside from the bright blue blinking light on it, it is very low profile. It will fit well in a laptop that doesn't already have blue-tooth, and you shouldn't have to remove it at all.
The only downside I've had with this thing is the range. It needs a line of sight if it is maybe 15+ feet away. As it is about half the size of a dime, though, you cant really expect much range on it since it has no room for a large antenna. However, you should not need too much range anyway, as that is the point of blue-tooth, low range devices.
I have read in other reviews that they have had problems with the bundled software. I did not receive any bundled software with the device, so I cannot review the software that they got. The device works perfectly fine with Windows, and should work well with Mac OS or Linux, though I have not tried this device with them. So if that problem makes you not want to buy this product, it will work with Windows, no additional drivers needed.
I would recommend this product that wants or needs blue-tooth on their computer and does not require a long range connection. Also, at the price you can get it at (about $3.00), it is a must have if you do not already have blue-tooth. Who knows, if you don't need it now, you may need it later.
It's okay--but beware July 31, 2010

Insert it into a computer operating with Win XP and it will be recognized; the drivers will install automatically. I used it for communicating with my cell phone (ringtone transfer). I also tried it on a laptop (with Vista operating system), but it failed. The seller recommended a "free" download site, but that driver was actually trial software. When I complained, the seller sent me a disk which contained a driver that worked with Vista. Luckily my needs for the dongle are limited because I don't think the driver that the seller provided is very sophisticated. If you purchase this item, be prepared to argue for drivers, or pay about $30 for a download. If the dongle is pictured with a CD, ask the seller if it actually ships with the CD.

The Usb Bluetooth dongle is an object you can rely on. This dongle has a great range, is easy to use, and can be used in many ways. Calling from your computer to connecting a game controller to it are all examples of things you can do with this great dongle. The only bad thing about it is that it does not include the necessary software you will have to download it from the maker's page or get an alternate software.
Summary: The dongle is very good and recommended for all types of use, but does require a little of computer knowledge to be able to be used correctly and easily.

This product worked and continues to work flawlessly. It pulls it's own sowftware in from the net by itself for setup. I thought I was taken, but I wasn't. I have XP on my computer and use an LG phone. Great for transfering pics.

i bought mine for $3.00 it didnt come with software but it sill works great, even with windows7 the range is great i can connect arcross the house and works great! its GREAT!!! lol
